José Acosta

About

Executive Chef at Puerta del Sol

Chef José Acosta was born in Madrid, Spain, where food is not just eaten—it is shared, celebrated, and lived. Inspired by his father and sister, José began cooking at home before pursuing his dream abroad. In London, he took his first kitchen job as a dishwasher, determined to work his way up from the ground.

Driven by passion, José refined his skills across Europe. He trained with some of Spain’s most celebrated chefs: Dabiz Muñoz at DiverXO in Madrid, Ricard Camarena at Habitual in Valencia, and Iván Cerdeño at Florida Beach in Málaga. He also worked as a private chef for celebrities, including footballer David Alaba. His cooking blends tradition, technique, and story in every plate at Puerta del Sol.
